A Reception in Commemorating the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, the National Day, and Father’s Day of the Kingdom of Thailand in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
On 4 December 2023, the Royal Thai Consulate-General hosted a commemorative reception marking the auspicious occasions of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, the National Day, and Father’s Day of the Kingdom of Thailand. The reception took place at the Al Wasl Ballroom, Hotel Dusit Thani, Dubai. Her Excellency Miss Nipa Nirannoot, Consul-General of Thailand to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, presided over the ceremony, which was attended by 200 esteemed guests. Among them were heads of the Team Thailand offices in the UAE, distinguished representatives from both the public and private sectors of the UAE, members of the consular corps, and members of Thai communities.
In her remarks, the Consul-General of Thailand commended the warm and enduring diplomatic relations between Thailand and the UAE, which are approaching their 50th anniversary in 2025. Highlighting the UAE as Thailand's primary trading partner in the Middle East, she noted a flourishing two-way trade volume that has reached 20 billion USD and is expected to expand to 30 billion USD in the near future. Additionally, she emphasized Thailand's status as one of the favourite destinations for Emiratis, with an estimated 140,000 individuals anticipated to visit the country in 2023 for leisure and medical purposes.
Closing her remarks, the Consul-General invited all guests to extend well wishes for happiness and good health to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua of the Kingdom of Thailand, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, as well as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The entertainment program featured a captivating singing performance by Miss Racha Rugkapun of the song “Still on My Mind,” a musical composition by His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, and the song “Gift of the Clay,” a popular Thai song inspired by His Majesty's given name and his profound contributions to his Kingdom during his reign. The reception further included four magnificent dance performances supported by Vega Intertrade and Exhibition LLC and Al Warqa’s Exhibitions Organizing.
At the foyer of the ballroom, Thailand's vibrant business and culture were on display. The exhibition encompassed a diverse array of high-quality Thai products, promotion of the prestigious Thai SELECT award, demonstrations showcasing Thai arts and handicrafts (Bai Sri Su Khwan and fruit and vegetable carvings), presentations of wellness products and ‘Nuadthai’ services, traditional Thai porcelain wares known as ‘Benjarong,’ and promotions of various Thai tourist destinations.
