The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai Organizes ‘An Afternoon of Thai Culinary Masterclass by Benjarong’s Chef Wichit Panyo’ at Dusit Thani Dubai
On 10 September 2024, H.E. Miss Nipa Nirannoot, Consul-General of Thailand to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, hosted the event ‘An Afternoon of Thai Culinary Masterclass in Dubai by Chef Wichit Panyo’ at the Benjarong Restaurant, Dusit Thani Hotel Dubai.
Consul-General Nipa Nirannoot welcomed the participants and emphasized the significance of Thai cuisine as a cultural bridge between countries, fostering close relationships and friendships, especially between Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.
Participants at the event included Lady Consul-Generals and Consuls from countries such as Australia, Israel, Malta, Peru, Switzerland, and Germany, as well as spouses of the Consul-Generals of Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Additionally, Emirati notable figures and local social media influencers also attended the event.
This event is part of the "Thai Kitchen to the World Project," with an aim to promote Thai cuisine and enable participants to learn about Thai local ingredients, understand the uniqueness of Thai cuisine and its preparation, as well as knowing the places to buy them, thus in turn helping to promote Thai goods in the Dubai market.
On this occasion, participants learned to prepare three reknown Thai dishes: Som Tum (papaya salad), Pad Thai (Thai stir-fry rice noodle), and Tub Tim Grob (water chestnuts in coconut milk).
Upon completing the activity, the participants received certificates and gift bags containing recipe cards, a chef’s hat, an apron, a ready-made Pad Thai kit, and Thai honey.
The Consulate-General wishes to thank Dusit Thani Hotel Dubai as a key partner in promoting Thai culture and being home to Benjarong Restaurant, which has been awarded the Thai SELECT certification, marking it one of Dubai's leading fine-dining Thai restaurants.
