On 22 February 2023, Ms. Nantaporn Laobooncharoen, Deputy Consul-General/ Acting Consul-General, along with an official from the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Dubai, welcomed and facilitated the arrival of 29-member Thai national team which included athletics, staff, and coaches, at Dubai International Airport. The team will participate in the Dubai 2023 World Para Athletics Grand Prix – Fazza International Para Athletics Championships which will be held from 22 February to 3 March 2023. The programme is a part of the qualifier series to be eligible to participate in the next Paralympic Games 2024 in Paris.

Earlier, another Thai National team participated in the Sharjah 2023 International Open Para Athletics Meeting, held in Sharjah on 20 – 22 February 2023.
