By the Ministerial Regulation of the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Thailand dated 10 January 2019, Thailand will implement a temporary Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) fee exemption scheme, starting from 14 January 2019 to 30 April 2019.

During the aforementioned period, nationals and holders of passports/travel documents of Andorra, Bulgaria, Bhutan, China (excluding Hong Kong and Macao), Cyprus, Ethiopia, Fiji, India, Kazakstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Papua New Guinea, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Taiwan are exempted from VoA fee of 2,000 Baht.
The scheme is applicable only for tourism purposes and stay for up to 15 days.

Applicants can apply for VoA at designated immigration checkpoints.
The requirements for VoA application include,
          (1) Completed application form
          (2) Passport sized photograph (4 x 6 cm)
          (3) Passport validity of at least 30 days at the time of applying for VoA
Please note that this is applicable only for immigration purpose (entry into Thailand). As a general rule and the recommendation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), it is advised that a passport should have at least 6 months of validity for travelling abroad. Hence it could be the case that certain airlines might not allow those who travel with less than six (6) months of validity on passport to board the plane.
          (4) Confirmed return ticket within 15 days
          (5) Having appropriate means of living (at least THB 10,000 Baht per person or 20,000 Baht per family) as well as being able to notify the address in Thailand that can be verified.

Passengers arriving to Thailand via Suvarnabhumi Airport can also apply for VoA online prior to their arrival at https://extranet.immigration.go.th/voaonline.
