From 15 to 16 May 2026, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai participated in the opening ceremonies of the “Thai Fruits and Food Festival 2026.” Organized by the Thai Trade Center in Dubai, these in-store promotions were held at Choithrams Supermarket (Green Community – DIP branch) and Al Maya Supermarket (Al Maya Murooj branch), respectively.
Both opening ceremonies were presided over by H.E. Bolbongse Vangphaen, Ambassador of Thailand to the UAE. Also in attendance were Mrs. Merica Sivara, Deputy Consul-General and Acting Consul-General of Thailand to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Mr. Pitichai Rattananaka, Executive Director of the Thai Trade Center, Dubai, and Mr. Ahman Mad-adam, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Dubai Office. Together with the supermarkets' top executives, Mr. Mark Mortimer-Davies, CEO of Choithrams Supermarket, and Mr. Kamal Vachani, Group Director and Partner of Al Maya Group, the high-level guests toured the promotional activities inside both venues.
The Royal Thai Consulate-General commends the Thai Trade Center in Dubai for this initiative, which significantly stimulates trade and economic ties between Thailand and the UAE. The event reinforces Thailand’s global reputation as the “Kitchen of the World” and “The Land of Tropical Fruits,” while providing consumers in the UAE with direct access to high-quality, authentic Thai products. Featured items included premium fresh fruits such as durian, mangosteen, rambutan, mango, and coconut, alongside a vast array of authentic Thai cooking ingredients.
In collaboration with the Thai side, both supermarket chains are offering promotional discounts of up to 25% on selected Thai products from 15 to 31 May 2026, under the theme “Think Food, Think Thailand.”
The promotion spans across 16 branches of Choithrams Supermarket, including Al Rais, Dubai Tower, Safa Park, Sharjah Marine, Trident Grand Mall, Umm Suqeim, Green Community, Falcon, Al Nahda, Al Suroor Superstore, Bay Square, Manhattan Tower, The Greens, Showroom Mirdif, Silicon Oasis, and DEC Marina.
