Consul-General of Thailand to Dubai presided over the ceremony to inaugurate Sharjah-Phuket flight by Air Arabia
On 15 December 2023, H.E. Miss Nipa Nirannoot, Consul-General of Thailand to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, attended the ceremony to mark the inaugural flight of Air Arabia between Sharjah-Phuket at the Sharjah International Airport, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The ceremony was also presided over by H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfah, Chairman Sharjah International Airport Authority, and key executives of Air Arabia including Mr. Abdul Rehman Bin Taliah, Director-Government Relations, Mr. Housam Raydan, Director-Corporate Communications, and Mr. Rajesh Narula, Regional General Manager, Indian sub-Continent and Far East.
On this occasion, the Consul-General of Thailand visited the airline’s check-in counters, engaged with the airline’s personnel, held discussions with key executives to promote aviation and tourism cooperation between Thailand and the UAE, and participated in cake-cutting ceremony to mark this special occasion.
Air Arabia is a prominent budget airline of the UAE based at Sharjah International Airport. The airline operates flights from Sharjah to different destinations in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and north Africa. Since its establishment in 2003, the airline has expanded to more than 170 routes, encompassing 22 routes within the GCC alone, posing great potential in boosting tourism to Thailand. The airline operates flights with Airbus 320 and Airbus 321 Neo LR, and offers passengers ‘value for money’ services.
Currently, Air Arabia operates 11 weekly flights between Sharjah and Bangkok, and 4 weekly flights between Sharjah and Phuket, making a total of 15 weekly flights linking Thailand with the UAE.
