On 28 February 2020 between 12.00 - 22.00 hrs., the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai hosted a Thai Food Festival 2020 to promote and increase the popularity of Thai food in the United Arab Emirates. The Festival was presided over by H.E. Mr. Chairat Sirivat, Consul General, and had 14 Thai restaurants and 4 Thai products distributors showcasing their Thai food and products. The event was also supported by the Thai Professional Culinary Club of Dubai, Team Thailand Offices in Dubai, and Thai private sectors which contributed to its success.

The Thai Food Festival 2020 activities included Thai cooking demonstrations, Thai cultural performances, Ice carving show, live music, Thai spicy eating contest, Thai massage service, etc. There were over 2,000 attendants including Consular Corps in Dubai, Thais, UAE citizens, and foreigners.
